Here is the little guy. :)
Completely available and willing to be loved in a good home. He and his big brother need to go to the vet first. I'll try to get a picture of the bigger guy soon.

This is the gray one that took the leap. She's fine. No broken bones but maybe a little eye infection. We just have to keep her awake for the rest of the afternoon. Sometimes my job is a little strange. :)

These are three kittens that my boss saved today from underneath her house. They are available but haven't gone to the vet yet.
The fourth one (gray) took a spectacular leap off of our balcony to the parking lot 25-35 feet below and used up one of it's lives. It is now at the vet waiting to see if it can come home to its family. :(
ETA: The gray one is OK. No broken bones, maybe just a concussion. Picture soon.

I just signed up for Mike Thrasher Presents e-mail list so I can get it right from the source. I'll be posting on LJ communities because it seems like no one else will.

Am I the only person that didn't know VNV was playing at the Showbox this Wednesday?

One of the prizes will be a framed print of this:

I'll also have a few copies of my mix discs with me. If you don't have one, please ask me for one. I decided to put all three on one disc as mp3 along with the art and track lists. Eazy Squeezy.

I was going to say that I'm on E, but that would sound funny. Diary of Dreams and De/Vision took a lot out of me but I'm finally on the E folder with 13 bands. E Nomine is done. 12 more to go.

Life just gets in the way of everything.
I got through the Decoded Feedback folder yesterday. We killed (or re-killed) a bunch of ghouls, mummies and a lich or two. Have to get through drawing #4 of 8 this week to meet my deadline. I'll never own a house. Got a good used camera relatively cheap. Week #4 workout starts today but I the last three weeks have only been 2 sessions and not three like required. Downloaded the newest Informatik album as well as a bunch of free remixes. It's pretty good but nothing groundbreaking. Decided to attend a convention in August. Computer seems to be working fine (now that I kicked it).

So very disappointed in myself for not making it to Funker Vogt. I called in sick to work today and have just felt sore and worn down all day, even after the epic nap.
Please tell me it was an average show and that I didn't miss much.

Week three started yesterday. I almost collapsed when I finally got home after walking back up Denny. Exercises have increased in number and in the time required to accomplish them. I'll have to do the other two days on Thursday and Friday because of D&D tonight and Funker Vogt on Wednesday.
I'll post a comparison of that show to the one we saw on Saturday.
Not much else to say except I think I'm going to download the newest Informatik album.

I'm amazed that my computer decides to turn on at all any more. I think I'll take advantage of it.
Mao has finally got to sit on the sill of an open window in the 'new' apartment (I moved in December). He's a Southern cat and loves the heat, humidity, and sunshine. I don't think he likes it here too much during the winter. Go figure. I opened up the window next to my computer (because it's only one of two that actually have a screen). I had to clean a bunch of dirt and random debris from it and Mao was up there immediately. He soaked in the fresh air for about 20 minutes which probably made him tired because he spent the rest of the day snoozing on the bed in the middle of the room. I finally had to close the window at night because someone outside was smoking.
I had a surprise guest DJ spot at the Merc on Friday because Brishan was sick. I had a good time and didn't end up playing the brown note. JQ billed it as a new school vs. old school thing mainly because she didn't want to have to play VNV and Assemblage 23 again. She got to play a bunch of old stuff that doesn't get played very often. In fact at one point, I didn't recognize 3/4 of one of her sets! As usual, the people that were there to dance knew those tracks and danced to them and enjoyed themselves from what I could tell. In any case, the old school obviously 'won' the 'contest' because I had a difficult time getting people on the floor with the 'new' stuff. My first set was failing so badly that I had to sink to the lowest common denominator to get more people on the floor. Yes, I played Depeche Mode. There was no escaping it. And then I followed it up with a bunch of standard EBM dance floor hits which seemed to keep people happy. Apparently dancers hate 'B sides'.
I really don't think I play 'B sides'. In my own opinion I play really good tracks that -aren't- the 'hits' that everyone has heard 10,000 times already... Shit, I guess that means, they -are- 'B sides'.... *le sigh*
But but but... what about all those tracks that she played that I hadn't heard before that everyone was dancing to? Are those 'B sides' or has everyone just been around the scene so long that they remember all those songs? Or does everyone own those albums and not any of the new ones? Or is it the city and my lack of familiarity with it and its residents? Or is it that people just don't fucking care? I know the only people that are even mildly concerned about good beat matching and smooth transitions are DJs. And what about the people that are there to just hang out and -not- dance? How much do they care about what is being played? How many of them would even notice if I played the entire In Strict Confidence discography back to back?
Damn, I hate over-analyzing things. I think I'm happiest in the booth when I'm just a little tipsy and not concerned about what people think. That's when I get to play a lot of the tracks I really like, the ones that -could- be dance floor favorites if only people gave them a chance and actually listened to music outside of the club.
-That's- it. That's what one of the problems is. I am now going to assume that people don't listen to music outside of the club. Either that or they only listen to KMFDM.
Or Depeche Mode.
